Week 2 Blogpost
Kia ora e te whānau
We have had a wonderful week in Hōpara!
Thursday Science
This Thursday we started a series of investigations made by the New Zealand Transport agency. The purpose of these investigations is to gain a better understanding of what happens when a car is in a crash. This week we looked at side on, rear end and head to head impacts using marbles to simulate cars in crashes.
CHILL CLUBS: All Hōpara students now have a new set of CHILL tasks that they have personally designed or were given. As a team, we continue to refine this program to ensure it is student-led and driven but also ensure there is accountability. Please check in with your child about how they are tracking with these tasks, they are due at the end of week 5.
Kapa Haka
We were lucky enough to have Halle Pitama-Taite join our kura today to support us with Kapa Haka. We loved her passion and energy.
Sun Hats - Please make sure your child has a NAMED sun hat ready for school tomorrow. The weather is heating up and we need to stay sun safe!
Mask wearing - We would appreciate all parents/caregivers wearing a mask inside our classroom, we understand if you have an exemption you will not have to.
