Week 9 Blogpost

Kia ora,

This week in Hōpara we have had a Space theme to honour our work on the Wonder Project Rocket Challenge. We have learned some facts about the Sun and Moon, and started some research into Space questions. Some of the questions were:

- Why is the sun hot?
- Why do some planets have more moons than others?
- Why do you float in space?

We used Scratch to create a game about landing the 1969 Lunar Module. One the games is here (by Hamish):
Use the Spacebar to land the module safely without running out of fuel.

We used Dr Xargle's Guide to Earthlets to imagine how aliens might view our life on Earth. On Thursday we had our rocket launch celebration so every group could see the rockets fly. It was awesome!  We are so proud of the perseverance of the class to keep working on their rocket prototypes.
